la ligne II a donc été poussée jusquà Göritz et Trieste, et la distance Linz-Trieste diminuée de 170 kilomètres. Il faut cependant tenir compte de ce fait que les sections nouvellement construites ont un profil accidenté et que les trains militaires n'y pourront probablement circuler que dédoublés. En outre, entre le tunnel de Wochein et Göritz, la ligne II longe la frontière italienne à moins de 15 kilomètres, parfois à 4 ou 5. Par suite, elle devra être gardée dune façon très sérieuse, dès le premier jour dune mobilisation. Les troupes de couverture sont aujourd'hui, du reste, assez nombreuses dans cette région. Malgré ces inconvénients, il n'y a pas à douter que l'appoint constitué par les nouvelles voies ferrées, en vue d'une concentration sur l'Isonzo, est très appréciable. L'Autriche dispose aujourd'hui de trois lignes de transport pour masser ses forces sur l'Isonzo, et d'une quatrième pour renforcer le Tyrol. Lorsqu'elle sera achevée,
