Description
Español: “Autorretrato”, de Victor Emil Janssen (1807-1845). Obra destruida en 1931. Esta pintura formaba parte de las colecciones de la Hamburger Kunsthalle (Hamburgo) y quedó destruida el 6 de junio de 1931, cuando se encontraba temporalmente en Múnich como parte de una exposición sobre el arte romántico alemán (titulada “Obras de románticos alemanes desde Caspar David Friedrich hasta Moritz von Schwind”). El incendio fue provocado y destruyó totalmente el edificio que albergaba la exposición (el Glaspalast o “Palacio de cristal” de Múnich), junto con las más de 110 obras que formaban parte de la exposición temporal y las 3000 de la colección permanente que se conservaba en el edificio.

This painting was part of the collections of the Hamburger Kunsthalle (Hamburg) and was destroyed on June 6, 1931, when it was temporarily in Munich as part of an exhibition on German romantic art (“Works of German romantics from Caspar David Friedrich to Moritz von Schwind”). The fire was an arson and totally destroyed the building that housed the exhibition (the Glaspalast or “Glass Palace” in Munich), together with more than 110 works of art that were part of the temporary exhibition and the 3000 of the permanent collection.

Im Sommer 1931 (6. Juni 1931) wurde das Gemälde zusammen mit anderen bedeutenden Bildern deutscher Romantik während der Kunstausstellung im Münchner Glaspalast („Werke deutscher Romantiker von Caspar David Friedrich bis Moritz von Schwind“) bei dessen Brand vernichtet.
