When yousee her and know her, I may say in most respects you GEXEALOGW 33 see the type of our Mother, our Grandmother Myl-chreest, and our Great-grandmother Stephen. Theywere all Wesleyan Methodists of the original type,devout, self-sacrificing, dutiful, noble women, whoreally believed and lived lives in accordance. All our family owe a debt of gratitude to my SisterElizabeth for the tender care and loving ministrationshe bestowed on Mother while she lived, and whenMother was called away she transferred all her loveand care to Father, and he appreciated it, for in hiswill he made special provision for her, and joined withher and all of us in receiving the blessed sacramentfrom Bishop Abiel Leonard a short time before he died.

The author of this family record was born in Castle-town, Isle of Man, April 17th, 1836, and attended anumber of select schools, beginning with the MissFinnigans and ending when about fourteen years ofage with instruction in French-Dancing-Singing-De-portment, Sword exercise. School of the Soldier, andthe theory and practice of scaling fortifications, byProfessor Bamford, whose Mother was reader co QueenCharlotte. I was never able to scale any forts on theProfessors theory and practice while a soldier, butthink some of the lessons in fencing, school of the soldierand deportment did me some good.
