| Description |
Spikelets are 1-flowered with hairless reddish-brown glumes; the lower glume is 17 mm or more long. The lemma is hairy with a terminal awn (7-10 cm long) that becomes twice bent at maturity. The palea is distinctly shorter than the lemma. |
