| Description | Native, yearlong green, perennial, diffuse or tufted, wiry grass to 2 m tall; shortly rhizomatous and without a basal tuft of leaves. Leaves are expanded or weakly rolled, 1–9 mm wide and hairless, rough-to-touch or sparsely hairy. Flowerheads are purplish, open panicles to 40 cm long. Bristle of awn is flattened. Usually grows on sandy soils in woodland or mallee. |
