| Description |
English: Lavender plants have gray-green leaves that are usually narrow, sometimes with small lobes or sometimes deeply dissected, and laden with aromatic oils. The flowers occur in any shade from pink to purple or off-white, and can flower for much of the year. Lavenders fall into 3 groups based on flowers and foliage: the hardy Spica (English lavender) Group, with slender flower spikes and mostly basal entire leaves; the slightly tender Stoechas Group, with fatter flower spikes topped by petal-like bracts; and the tender Pterostoechas Group, with pinnately divided leaves. |
