English: AWM image BEL/69/0324/VN. Dat Do, South Vietnam. 1969-05. Armoured personnel carriers (APCs) from B Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, rumble through the streets in a bid to find two Viet Cong companies entrenched in the village. Protecting the armour are troops from the 9th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (9RAR), which is based six miles away. The enemy fled on the approach of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) troops. |
