Description
English: Men of the Australian 2nd Division outside the Mairie in Bapaume, Somme, France. The town was occupied by the Australians on 17 March 1917, following the German withdrawal to the Siegfried Stellung of the Hindenburg Line.
Français : Bataile de la Somme (en:Battle of the Somme) — Soldats de la 2e division australienne à l'extérieur de l'Hôtel de Ville de Bapaume (France - département du Pas-de-Calais [proche du dép. de la Somme]). La ville est occupée par les Australiens le 17 mars 1917, suite au repli allemand sur la Siegfried Stellung* de la ligne Hindenburg
