English: An aumbry is a small safe that is embedded in a wall and is usually near the altar of a church or in the priests' sacristy(usually an Anglican, Catholic, or Orthodox church). The aumbry can be used to hold consecrated elements (bread and wine), holy oils, sacred books, sacred vessels, and vestments. |

The aumbry has a lock.
In this photograph, the aumbry is to the left of the altar. It is a small aumbry capable of holding only a few items. The style of this aumbry is modern or contemporary. The altar has a wood reredos (wood background). You can also see the sanctuary lamp attached to the reredos and to the right of the aumbry in this photo.
