Kommentar: Der Münzmeister L. Mescinius Rufus widmet diese Münze ganz dem Princeps. Auf der Vorderseite hat der Kranz die Position der Legende eingenommen, während diese nun das zentrale Motiv bildet. Inhaltlich ergänzen sich beide Elemente: Der Kranz als Corona Civica drückt die in der Legende angesprochenen Verdienste des Augustus um die Res Publica auf. Der Inschriftenstein der Rückseite stellt ein dem Princeps vom Senat beschlossenes Ehrendenkmal dar.
