Description
Français : Portrait d'Augustin-Magloire Blanchet (1797-1887). Dessin au crayon, fusain et à l'estompe sur papier calque, par Jean-Joseph Girouard. Ce portrait a été dessiné par J.-J. Girouard en 1838 alors que les deux hommes étaient incarcérés par les Britanniques à la prison du Pied-du-Courant lors des révoltes démocratiques de 1837-1838 au Canada. A.-M. Blanchet était alors curé de Saint-Charles. A.-M. Blanchet fut incarcéré du 16 décembre 1837 au 31 mars 1838.
L'inscription sous le dessin se lit :
«Augustin Magloire Blanchet curé
de St Charles comté Richelieu
incarcéré le 16 décembre 1837».
