Effingham County Farmer Dies After Attack From Bull. (Special to The Herald) Effingham, Illinois; May 13, 1929. August Wolf, 74, of West township, died 5:30 o'clock Friday evening from injuries sustained when he was attacked by a mad bull. Mr. Wolf, a prominent farmer in the southwest portion of the county, had taken a bull on his farm farm to water and was leading it back to the barn when the accident occurred. The bull knocked him over, breaking several ribs and causing internal injuries. His son, who was returning from school and his wife finally succeeded in heading off the bull, but he died shortly afterward.
