Description

Here, wood debris is among the many things cleaned up in New Bedford Harbor, in addition to the PCBs. From old dock pieces to oyster shells, those 'larger' items need to be removed before the PCB-contaminated sediment to avoid blockages and disruptions to the dredge pipeline. This wood likely came from abandoned pier and dock structures in the upper harbor that were not of historical value.
