| Description |
Audubon Stables, Audubon Park, New Orleans. Audobon Park is divided into two halves. The northern half borders Tulane University and is bound to the north by St. Charles Avenue--the famous uptown boulevard containing the famous trolley line. The park is divided almost geographically in half by Magazine Street. Magazine Street is very interesting and full of shops, restaurants, and eclectic sights. We walked a few miles along Magazine to forage for dinner. The southern half of the park contains Audubon Stables and Audubon Zoo. The northern half's proximity to Tulane and St. Charles Avenue guarantees it's more crowded and well kept. But, the southern half of the park has its highlights, including a great view of the ships on the Mississippi River coming in from who knows where. |
