Description

O Auditório Municipal cumpre mais um compromisso do Município com a população: um recurso ao serviço das artes e da cultura. Este constitui um espaço de cultura, de aprendizagem e de atualidade artística, prestando um serviço público e promovendo o acesso da população a diferentes atividades culturais.

​Foi no longínquo dia 4 de julho de 1915, um domingo, que Joaquim Lopes Fernandes Franco e Ignácio Villa Bañez inauguraram o Salão Teatro Liberdade, com a grande e emocionante fita cinematográfica “Os Três Mosqueteiros”, realizada por J. Searle Dawley, tornando-se rapidamente na nova grande sala de espetáculos cinematográficos de Reguengos de Monsaraz.

A partir de meados dos anos 50 e até 1962, o Salão Liberdade foi deixando de reunir as condições necessárias para continuar a funcionar como sala de espetáculos, sendo determinado o seu encerramento. Procedeu-se, então, à construção de um cinema novo, obras que decorreram até finais de 1965. Foi inaugurado a 8 de janeiro de 1966, às 21 horas, com a projeção de “A Queda do Império Romano”.

Atualmente, este edifício entretanto restaurado é o principal palco de eventos e espetáculos do concelho, acolhendo ainda a projeção de cinema todos os fins de semana. <a href="https://www.cm-reguengos-monsaraz.pt/locais/auditorio-municipal/" rel="noreferrer nofollow">www.cm-reguengos-monsaraz.pt/locais/auditorio-municipal/</a>
