| Description |
English: On 10 June 1949 this map of the Auckland Transport Board area was produced. It shows railway lines, bus routes, tram and trolley bus routes. It also shows areas shaded in blue that were areas of anticipated development, such as Glen Innes and Lynfield
. The map was drawn up to show planned changes to Auckland’s public transport, which included the conversion of trolley bus routes and electric tramways to motor bus routes. The last Auckland trams ran in December 1956, having been initiated in 1902. The North Shore does not appear to exist on this map, as the Harbour Bridge was not built until 1959.
