English: Auchabrack The farmhouse named Auchabrack is now disused. There is a modern house at Burnfoot about 1/2 Km to the north. The area around Auchabrack is one of two small areas of cultivated land in the Forest of Birse. (Historically, a 'Forest' was an uncultivated area set aside for hunting and was not necessarily wooded. Heather moorland is the principal habitat in the Forest of Birse.) |
