Description
English: Bukavu, South Kivu, DR Congo: During the engine startup of UN 807, the moon appears in Bukavu Airport, before the night flight. This kind of training allows the UN to operate in different Heli Landing Sites at night, allowing reliable and accurate operation. If necessary, those points can be used at night either as medical evacuations or points of insertion of troops. Photo MONUSCO/Uruguayan Aviation Unit.
Français : Bukavu, Sud-Kivu, RD Congo: Au moment du démarrage du moteur du UN 807, apparaissait la lune sur l’Aéroport de Bukavu, avant le vol de nuit. Ce genre d’exercice permet à l’ONU d’opérer dans différents sites d’atterrissage d’hélicoptère pendant la nuit, pour des opérations sûres et précises.
