Description
English: Portrait of a young noble lady, possibly a princess

This sensitively rendered portrait shows a luxuriously dressed beauty, who's wearing an elaborate deep red silk dress with golden embroideries and an elegant lace ruffled bodice. She completed her outfit with an opulent fur-trimmed green coat and embellished her dress with two large sapphire brooches. The young princess sweetly looks at the viewer with big blue eyes and a smile on her face, she has dark hair which she wears in a "fontagne coiffure" hairstyle, this was a style which was very popular between 1680 and 1710.

In terms of style, technique, color palette and size, the painting is very reminiscent of the works by the famous French painter Pierre Mignard and it was likely created by a follower of him.
