Description
"Italian School, Florence, late 16th century Presented in a Florentine frame in gilded wood and carved with windings and openwork volutes. Total dimensions: 90 x 80 cm. The canvas alone: 57 x 50 cm. Tiberio Titi (Florence, 1578 - 1637) is a painter of the Italian Renaissance, he is the son of the painter Santi di Tito. Like his father, he was welcomed to the Medici court, he specialized in portraits of the Florentine nobility, which gave him a certain fame and even gave him commissions for his art in general. His style is "magnificent" and strongly marked by the idealization of aristocratic effigies. Marie de Medici the future Queen of France and here portrayed in a bust with her head turned to the left.
