Description

Portrait said to be of Louise de La Vallière (1644-1710)

Français : "Notre tableau serait une réplique d'un portrait de Mmede La Vallière peint en 1673 avant son entrée au couvent des Carmélites et décrit par Lada Nikolenko comme cassant un collier de perles (œuvre non reproduite, notice N°12, p.118). L'œuvre originale est non localisée depuis son achat par "Dorval" à l'époque de son exécution. D'autres versions attribuées à Pierre Mignard sont passées en ventes publiques comme un portrait présumé de Mmede La Vallière (New-York, 5octobre 1995 (Christie's), 129) ou comme modèle non identifié (Portrait d'une dame de qualité, Paris, Hôtel Drouot, 22juin 2001 (Millon), 38).
