Description
English: Portrait of Maria Theresa of Austria, Queen of Saxony (1767-1827), formerly identified as her aunt Archduchess Maria Amalia of Austria (1746-1804).
"Portrait of the young (she looks for ca. 20 years) Archduchess of Austria, future Queen of Saxony Maria-Theresia [...] Although unsigned, an absolutely typical and, to the best of our belief, an authentic work by the famous Vienna Neoclassical artist, Professor of Viennese Academy of Fine Art, Heinrich Friedrich Fueger. Due to highest quality of this miniature we believe to deal here with the original life portrait after which two large-scale copies were made - one (in oils) in Castle Miramare bei Triest, the second - in pastel".
