Français : "Petite fille de Louis XIV et de Madame de Maintenon, Louise-Anne de Bourbon, dite Mademoiselle de Charolais (1695-1758) était réputée de murs légères. En repentance elle revêtait parfois la robe de bure des Franciscains, comme le narre l'abbé Bellanger. La princesse avait été attendue en vain pendant plus de six heures pour la pose de la première pierre d'une église, qu'elle soutenait financièrement : « À cette occasion, devant recevoir les remerciements du chapitre de Saint Honoré et les notables de Neuilly, elle eut létrange fantaisie de se faire peindre par Boucher en habit de religieuse, choisissant le costume de lordre le plus austère et le plus dur, celui des franciscaines. Alors Voltaire, un de ses hôtes assidus lui adressa cet impromptu trop connu : « Frère ange de Charolais, dis-nous par quelle aventure, le cordon de Saint-François, etc., etc. » (Histoire de Neuilly, 1855)" |
