Directly above the seats lays a space called the Attic. Here lights for the stage are placed to light the front of the actors. Each black Ellipsoidal (Light instrument) has a special purpose. One may hold a warm color to give the effect of a warm day, or hold a smooth blue to give the illusion of night or winter. Some even have a specific purpose of lighting a small portion of the stage called "A Special". This Attic has three (3) bays which can hold about 5-6 lights per bay.
