Deutsch: Attendorn, Wasserstraße 1. Stolperstein für Hermann Stern (*20.02.1874). Hermann Stern war Inhaber des Kaufhauses Lenneberg. Zeitweise war er während des Naziterrors bis zum 28. November 1938 im KZ Sachsenhausen inhaftiert. Am 13. Januar 1939 heiratete Hermann in zweiter Ehe Emilie geb. Lenneberg (*24.09.1881). Deren im Jahr 1928 verstorbene Schwester Henriette (Henny) war die erste Frau von Hermann Stern. Beide erhofften sich durch die Heirat eine bessere Möglichkeit zur Ausreise aus Nazi-Deutschland. Sie mussten wie alle Juden ab 1941 den Judenstern tragen, ihr Haus auf Druck der Partei aufgeben und zwangsweise im alten Böheimersche Haus wohnen. Die Eheleute Stern versuchten im Februar 1942 ins Ausland zu gelangen, zogen nach Wuppertal-Elberfeld, nahmen dort noch an einem Englischkurs teil, erhielten aber im Juli 1942 die Aufforderung sich zwecks Deportation nach dem Osten zu melden. Sie wurden dann am 21. Juli 1942 ab Düsseldorf nach Theresienstadt deportiert und am 21. September 1942 in das Vernichtungslager Treblinka evakuiert und dort ermordet. |
