Description
English: Topographical Atlas Paris and surroundings, here in 16 separate dissected colored sheets (see our other copy in bound atlas form, uncolored 13299.000). Dedicated and presented to the 1st Consul Bonaparte. Edited in 1775 by Dom Guillaume. Revised and engraved in 1800 by Charles Picquet. Atlas consists of one detailed topographic map on 16 numbered plates. Covers: Gisors, Beaumont, Senlis, La Ferte-Milon, Mantes, Pontoise, Meaux and Chateau-Thiery, Dreux, Versailles, Brie sur Yeres, Coulommiers, Chartres, Estampes, Melun and Provins. Showing roads, railroads, footprint of buildings, forest, parks, rivers, canals and bridges. Relief shown by hachures and shadings. Includes decorative title cartouche. Title page includes index map. With a multipage index of all places on the map. These maps are some of the most detailed published in the late 18th century showing the environs around Paris at a distance of about 60 to 80 miles out from the center.
