It is therefore a direct fracture orcrushing-fracture of both phalanges of the big toe. Soft parts un-injured; marked swelling. Ordinary dressing; recovery. In anat-omic specimens the sustentaculum is often found united bycallus with the posterior median process of the astragalus. This isolated fracture of the sustentaculum is rare.
