Description
Nederlands: Deze kaart van de Provence werd in 1631 gepubliceerd door Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638) en zijn zoon Joan Blaeu (1598-1673). Als voorbeeld gebruikten zij een kaart van de Provence van Pierre Jean Bompario uit 1591. Diens kaart was reeds in 1595 gepubliceerd in de atlas Theatrum Orbis Terrarum van de Antwerpse kartograaf Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598) uit 1595.
English: This map of the Provence was published in 1631 by Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638) and his son Joan Blaeu (1598-1673). A map of the Provence by Pierre Jean Bompar from 1591 was used as example. Bompars map was already published in 1595 in the atlas Theatrum Orbis Terrarum by Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598).
