Description
Nederlands: In 1630 publiceerde uitgever Willem Jansz.
English: In 1630 Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638) successfully published his first atlas, the Atlantis Appendix. In order to profit from this success his neighbour, Jan Janssonius (1588-1664) commissioned the engravers Evert Symonsz. Hamersveldt and Salomon Rogiers in the same year to copy Blaeus complete atlas. This map of the Principality Orange is such a copy. Blaeus original map was made after a drawing by Jacobus de Chieze.
