Nederlands: In 1683 gaf Nicolaes Visscher II (1649-1702) een serie van tien prenten uit waarin de belangrijkste fasen uit de strijd zijn vastgelegd. De prenten werden gegraveerd door Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708) naar tekeningen van de Antwerpse kunstenaar Jacob Peeters . Op deze prent verovert de Poolse koning John_III_Sobieski het Turkse vaandel.; Middenonder genummerd: N. 9
English: In 1683, Nicolaes Visscher II (1649-1702) published a series of ten prints about the Turkish siege of the city of Vienna with the most important pictures of the war. The prints were engraved by Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708) after drawings from the Antwerp artist Jacob Peeters . This print depicts the Polish king John_III_Sobieski conquering the Turkish banner. |
