Description
Nederlands: Op deze prent Claes Jansz. Visscher (1587-1652) zijn 6 scenes afgebeeld die betrekking hebben op het beleg en de verovering van de stad Gennep in 1641. Hier zien we ondermeer de logimenten van de Staten-Generaal en van de Nederlandse legeraanvoerder Frederik Hendrik. De prent werd in 1649 gepubliceerd in het eerste deel van het stedenboek van Joan Blaeu (1598-1673).
English: These 6 views of the town of Gennep during the siege and capture of the town were engraved in 1641 by Claes Jansz. Visscher (1587-1652). One of the images depicts the lodgings of the Staten-Generaal and the Dutch commander-in-chief Frederik Hendrik. The print was published in the first volume of Joan Blaeus (1598-1673) Town Books of the Netherlands.
