Description |
Statue of Athena, of the "Athena Lemnia" type. This is the better preserved of the two versions of the type in Dresden, and the only version that preserves both the head and the body. Its identification as a copy of the statue of Athena Lemnia by Pheidias has been widely accepted since it was first proposed by Adolf Furtwängler in 1891, but it remains very uncertain. |
