Description
English: Athelhampton House The original house was the seat of the ancient manor of Piddletown held by the Londons and then the Pideles or Pydels. The Great Hall was built in 1485 by Sir William Martyn whose family were in ownership for more than 400 years. In later years Thomas Hardy was a frequent visitor.
