Title
Atchison County, Kansas, June 17, 2015 -- A Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) Team looks at a washed out road and culvert in Atchison County caused by heavy rains. FEMA and the State of Kansas are doing joint PDAs in the areas affected by flood waters. A joint PDA is used to determine the magnitude and impact of an event's damage. The State uses the results of the PDA to determine if the situation is beyond the combined capabilities of the State and local resources and to verify the need for supplemental Federal assistance.
