The Milky Way skirts the region represented nearthe left margin of the map; through the head ofTaurus Poniatowski in a narrow stream, and takesin the left shoulder and arm of Ophiucus to thefirst two joints in the tail of Scorpio, there unitingat the bend of the tail with another stream whichincludes the extremity of the tail of Scorpio, andflowing through Ara in one broad stream; thenNorth of Triangulum, and through Circinus. This map represents a section of theheavens next East of that shown in the precedingmap; its center has a Right Ascension of about19 hours, and comes to the meridian about 5 hoursbefore the Vernal Equinox. It contains, in com-mon with Map No. VIII., the left shoulder andhead of Ophiucus, the tail end of Serpens, the tailof Scorpio, and the principal stars in Ara. 105. Taurus Poniatowski— The Bull ofPoniatowski — is a small constellation, containingonly 5 noteworthy stars, located East of the leftshoulder of Ophiucus, and catalogued as belong-ing to that constellation. Three of those stars areof the 4th magnitude, and form a small triangle5° Southeast of Celbelrai. 106. Aquila et Antinous— The Eagle andAntinous.
