The main stream of the Milky Way comes with-in the limits of the map at the lower right handcorner, including Ara and the tail of Scorpio. Atthe tail it divides into two narrower streams ; theEastern one takes in the bow of Sagittarius,shield of Sobieski, the feet of Antinous, and skirt-ing his back, bends to include the whole of Aquila;the Western stream includes the left foot, hand,and shoulder of Ophiucus, with a part of the tailof Serpens, and Taurus Poniatowski. This map represents a section of theheavens next East of that shown in the map pre-ceding; the Right Ascension of its center is about22 hours, and it comes to the meridian above theearth 2 hours before the Vernal Equinox, and alittle more than half way from the Zenith towardsthe Southern horizon. It contains, in commonwith Map No. IX., the heads of Aquila et Antinous,Delphinus, the head of Capricorn, stars in thehand of Aquarius, a Microscopii, and y Gruis. 116. Capricor^us— The Goat. This is theeleventh in order of the Zodiacal constellations,and contains 51 discernible stars. It lies on theEcliptic, East of Sagittarius, and is representedon the globe as a goat with the tail of a fish. Theprincipal stars are those already named (Sec. 114)— ,<9 in the head, and a* and a2, in the left horn.Below ,5, 4°, are it and p, both of the 5th magni-tude, in the lower part of the face; 21° East from,9 is 8, of the 3rd magnitude, in the tail, and 2°West of 8 is y, of the
