English: (1 in a multiple picture set) As the Lewis and Clark Expedition came to the future site of Portland, the Columbia River turned Northwest and about 20 miles further, the exhausted crew got their first glimpse of their goal, the Pacific Ocean. We stopped at the Museum on the rivers shore and I captured this image of the old anchor in front of a cruise ship heading down to Portland. |
