Description
English: Birmingham & Fazeley Canal near Mill Wharf on Corporation Street - Aston Junction

Shots taken for IanGMclean of Mill Wharf which is near the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal.

This is the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal from Corporation Street. Not to far away from Aston Science Park (or Birmingham Science Park Aston as it is these days).

A bridge over the canal. Below it are some locks.

This is Aston Junction.

This is where the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal meets the Digbeth Branch Canal.

The cast iron bridge is Grade II listed. And is called a Roving Bridge.

Dated 1828 cast iron Horseley Ironworks roving bridge over the head of No 1 Aston Lock giving access to Digbeth branch canal. Elliptical arch, cast in 2 sections with bolted central clasping stanchions x pattern pierced balustrade with quatrefoil band below handrail. Bolted cast deck panels. Stone dressed brick swept abutments.

On the far right is the Roving Bridge at the North East End Of Aston Number 1 Lock. A brick bridge, Grade II listed.

Mid 1780s brick built roving bridge. Basket handle arch with gauged brick voussoirs, ashlar saddleback coping; swept brick abutments.

Near Dartmouth Circus.

The Digbeth Branch Canal goes right of here. The Birmingham & Fazeley Canal continues through the locks straight ahead.
