Fabriqué avec de l'argile, gbã est l'une des anciennes assiettes en Afrique noire toujours conserver surtout dans les Royaumes de l'Afrique de l'ouest car cela fait partie de leur patrimoine historique. Cette assiette est fabriquée selon les couches sociales: dans les maisons royales il y a des dessins originaux qui ornent ses plats pour décrir un accueil symbolique aux invités. Certains nobles continuent de manger dans ses assiettes jusqu'à nos jour.
