Summary
[edit]DescriptionAsseteague National Seashore Looking toward Ocean City.jpg |
English: Asseteague National Seashore created in the 1960s was once joined to Ocean City. CUt off from the resort town by the great storm of 1933 which carved the inlet that now separates them, by the late 1950s plans were afoot to create a new resort community. The hurricane of 1962 ended that plan and the land became part of the NPS. Today you can visit the Island and get a sense of what the barrier Islands looked like prior to their development. In this picture you can see the contrast between what is and what was in Ocean City. |
