Summary
[edit]DescriptionAspendos Theatre From hill behind 4621.jpg |
English: One can climb a hill in the back of the theatre, and see from there into the theatre. This is one of some pictures taken from there, or while walking along the side.
As mentioned in the Wikipedia, the auditorium was not roofed; rather, awnings (vela) could be pulled overhead to provide shelter from rain or sunlight. This is a view of the lower structure needed to secure a pole to which the vela could be connected. |
