| Description |
English: Tropical Cyclone Ashobaa is east of Masirah Island off the coast of Oman, moving slowly west-southwestward in the Arabian Sea. As Ashobaa nears the coast, increased vertical wind shear and increasing interactions with land should cause the storm to dissipate in a couple of days. Regardless, large waves and heavy rain will bring challenges to the communities and shallow ports along Oman's east coast. This image was taken by the Suomi NPP satellite's VIIRS instrument around 0915Z on June 10, 2015. |
