Asclepias tuberosa () 2019 photo - Common Name: Butterfly Weed, Size: 24x24in, orange, USDA Hardiness Zone 3, Michigan Bloom Month 6c, In Garden Bed V2 for 1.7 YEARS (Lowe). Planted in 2017. Unlike many of the other milkweeds, it does not have milky-sapped stems. Grows in a 2 foot tall clump. Clusters (umbels) of bright orange to yellow-orange flowers, hairy stems with narrow, lance-shaped leaves. AKA pleurisy root in reference to a medicinal use of the plant roots to treat lung inflammations.
