Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Artist's impression of red sunset over drying out lake of Pluto 7,9 billion years from now when the Sun reached its tip of red giant phase and expanded to 256 times the present-day diameter (~360,000,000 km). As the Sun has reached its giant phase Pluto could support a water-based hydrologic cycle, but due to its small size and modest gravity there will be a very thin and weak atmosphere (depicted here), and it would experience extreme day–night temperature difference on the surface.
