Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Arthur J. Zimmerman House, 277 Winspear Avenue, Buffalo, New York, July 2022. A contributing property to the NRHP-listed University Heights-Summit Park-Berkshire Terrace Historic District, the Zimmerman House was built in 1936 and looks the part from top to bottom: it's a two-story, wood-framed, brick-veneered structure whose Tudor Revival style is exemplified by its handsome façade, where round arches crowning both the second-story window and the off-center main entrance sport sunbeam-like rays of decorative masonry work accentuate the steep pitch of the asymmetrical double gables. The main portion of the roof is side-gabled, clad in diamond-shaped asphalt shingles and with a brick chimney on the east side wall. A dental technician by trade, Arthur Joseph Zimmerman (1896-1963) was partner with his brother George in the firm of Zimmerman Bros., with offices on Broadway. He lived in the house until his death.
