Description
English: Layers in a pit on the lower west flank of Arsia Mons as seen by HiRISE. The location is 8.6 degrees south latitude and 123.6 degrees west longitude. A dark streak is also seen. Image was taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's HiRISE. The HiRISE camera was built by Ball Aerospace and Technology orporation and is operated by the University of Arizona.
