Description

Space-filling models of the arsenic pentachloride molecule, AsCl5, as found in the crystal structure at −123 °C (150 K). One of the chlorines has been hidden to show the arsenic at the centre of the molecule. The effect of using different van der Waals radii for arsenic is illustrated, the corresponding radius being given below each molecule.

X-ray crystallographic data from Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem. 2002, 628, 729-734.

Model constructed in CrystalMaker 8.1.
