Description
English: Photo taken in the Arquebus War History Museum (Norwegian: Arquebus Krigshistorisk Museum, a World War II museum 10 km east of the city of Haugesund, Norway.
  • The Battle of Berlin diorama recreates the Soviet Assault on Berlin in April-May 1945, symbolizing the end of the Third Reich. Set in wartime Berlin in 1945, the scene depicts urban ruins with mannequins in period uniforms among the bricks and debris, accompanied by weapons, military equipment, and artifacts representing Nazi Germany's armed forces (Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS, etc.) and the Soviet Union's Red Army, etc.:
    • Soviet Red Army Medium Tank T-34 (T-34-85 Ural Tank Factory No. 183). The redesigned T-34/85 introduced in 1944 was equipped with an 85-millimeter cannon, had a crew of five and weighed 32 tons.
    • Russian soldiers of the Red Army in field uniforms, with SSh-40 steel helmet, telogreika padded jacket, PPS 43 submachine gun, officer's peaked cap, riding breeches, etc.
The Arquebus War Museum highlights Nazi Germany's occupation of Norway during the Second World War from 1940 to 1945. The museum showcases exhibits and dioramas on military equipment, actions, and daily life in Norway and the Rogaland region through 6,000 artifacts displayed across 2,000 square meters.
