English: The diorama "The Battle of Berlin" displayed at the Arquebus War History Museum (Norwegian: Arquebus Krigshistorisk Museum) in Førre, Norway. The exhibition depicts a World War II scene set in a city environment with ruins, bricks, and debris. It includes mannequins in uniforms, equipment, weapons, ammunition, and more from the military forces of Nazi Germany and the Red Army, the armed forces of the Soviet Union (USSR), including two Russian tanks. The picture shows German military equipment :
The Arquebus War Museum highlights the German occupation of Norway during the Second World War 1940-1945, featuring exhibits on war actions and daily life. The museum, 9 km east of Haugesund, offers a concise portrayal of the five-year occupation with 6,000 artifacts. The Berlin diorama is part of the "WWII Allied Victory in Europe 1945" exhibition opened in 2005 by the late Tom Wheatcroft (1922–2009), a British war veteran and collector of racing cars and German military vehicles. The exhibitions were created through collaboration between the museum and the private Wheatcroft Collection of Kevin Wheatcroft (born 1959). The displayed items include historical artifacts from the war, as well as replicas. The exhibition offers visitors insight into the significance of the conclusion of World War II in Europe. |
