Description Arms of w:Hamelin de Warenne, Earl of Surrey: France ancient with a bordure of England. As quartered by Howard, Duke of Norfolk. w:Hamelin de Warenne, Earl of Surrey (c.1130-1202) (alias "Hamelin of Anjou" and anachronistically "Hamelin Plantagenet"), was an Anglo-Angevin nobleman, being an illegitimate son of Geoffrey, Count of Anjou, and thus an elder half-brother of King Henry II, and uncle to King Richard I and King John.
